How our phone works

Danny is a climber. For most of the day he's up a tree, running a saw, or feeding the chipper, and none of those are places you can answer a phone. For years that meant voicemail, and voicemail meant you called the next name on the list.

So the phone is answered for him now. Here's exactly what happens when you call (352) 555-0134.

1. It's answered on the first ring

Any hour, any day — including Sunday and 2 AM in a storm. You won't get a recording asking you to leave a message. You'll get a voice that says "Thanks for calling Sky Blue Tree Service, how can I help?" and means it.

2. You tell us about the tree

Say what it's doing and where it is: "there's a limb hanging over my roof on 17th Street," "the pine in the back has been brown since spring," "I need three palms trimmed before my daughter's wedding." Our assistant asks for your name, a number to call you back on, and the address of the tree. That's the whole conversation — no menu, no hold music.

3. You're connected, or you pick a time

If Danny can step away, you're put straight through and you're talking to the owner. If he's mid-cut, you're offered a couple of times for him to call you back — usually within the hour, always the same day. Pick one.

4. You get a confirmation, and Danny calls

If you'd like, we text you the callback time (only if you say yes on the call — see our Text Messages page). At that time, Danny calls you from his cell. He's the one you talk to about the tree, the price and the date. Nothing about the job is decided by anyone but him.

Storm emergencies

A tree on the house, a limb through a window, a driveway or road blocked: say so and the call goes straight through, whatever the hour. We make it safe first and tidy second.

The honest part

The voice that answers is an assistant, not a person sitting in an office. If you ask, it'll tell you that. Its whole job is to get the details right and get you to Danny, and it does that better than a voicemail ever did. Calls may be recorded so the details are right when Danny calls you back.

Call now — the phone is answered, even when Danny's up a tree

Tell us what the tree is doing and where. You'll either talk to Danny right then or pick a time for him to call you back, usually within the hour.

  • Say what you're seeing: a cracked limb, a lean that's new, roots lifting the driveway, fronds on the pool cage.
  • Give us the address and a callback number — that's all we need to get you on the calendar.
  • Storm damage goes straight through, any hour, any day.
  • Estimates are done in person, at the tree, with Danny — not from a photo.
