What we do first
Make it safe. That means getting the weight off the structure before it does more damage, cutting away what's hanging, tarping the hole if the roof is open, and clearing the driveway or the road so you can get out and the power company can get in. We do that any hour of the day in hurricane season and we don't leave you with a half-cut tree because it got dark.
Tidy comes second. Once the house is safe and you can move, we come back on a normal schedule to take the rest of the tree, grind the stump and clean the yard.
If a tree is on your house right now
- Stay out of the rooms under it. Trees shift, and roofs that held for an hour can give way.
- If a power line is involved or down, stay away and call the utility first — we can't touch energized lines.
- Take photos before anything moves; your adjuster will want them.
- Don't let anyone with a chainsaw and a pickup "help" — a tree under load is the most dangerous cut there is.
